In 2002, while working towards her Masters degrees, Britt started her first business as an exhibiting artist. As her artwork gained recognition, so did her desire to help parents to prevent the accidents that brought children to the hospital where Britt worked. She joined forces with emergency room physician, Dr. Wayne Warrington and created her first product, the award winning video Care for Kids: The Essential Guide to Preparing Caregivers.
Since then, Britt has appeared in local, national and international media. She has spoken at international conferences and lead family based workshops designed to keep families safe, happy and healthy.
After her first book, Secrets of the Safety Goddess: A Modern Safety Guide for Busy Parents became a bestseller on Amazon.com, Britt realized that while she had achieved a significant level of success, it was in an area that she felt was not her life purpose.
Britt believes that every entrepreneur evolves over years of being in business, saying “If you look at any successful entrepreneur, you will see that there has been an evolutionary journey that has brought them to where they ultimately found success. Every step along the way makes each entrepreneur unique and while some steps may look like mistakes, without them they would be somewhere else.”
Britt’s entrepreneurial journey has brought her from artist and filmmaker to child safety enthusiast to lifestyle business coach to social media community builder. As a mom, she still embodies each one of these titles, but her current business focus is on Girlfriends Productions, LLC where she and her business partner, Dabney Porte produce social media communities for traditional media outlets such as the Friends of Ricki.
While Britt and Dabney build thriving online communities that reach into the millions of impressions every month for television shows and films, you will find Britt on any given day spending as much time as possible with her loved ones, writing down her ideas on paper notepads and seeking inspiration in nature.
