Day Two: How to Appreciate All You’ve Created, Experienced, and Achieved in This Life

Feeling disconnected from your purpose in life?

Having a hard time experiencing a deep feeling of abundance?

Needing a little soulful pep?

Most of us were never taught how to appreciate ourselves or our contributions to the world, so it isn’t surprising that there’s a disconnect here. Some of us feel that it is egotistical or somehow too self-involved to spend time focusing on ourselves in this way, but if we don’t take the time to honor the gifts we’ve brought to the world, we aren’t truly loving our journey, which doesn’t give us the incentive to keep going with a skip in our step.

Journaling about what you have given to others and how it has made them feel is a great way to honor your accomplishments. If you don’t have a lot of time, make a simple list of the things you remember doing for yourself and others in your life. This can help you see the wonderful things you’ve brought to this planet so you can feel fulfilled in knowing why you matter.

Go down memory lane and pull out all the gems, from singing in the choir as a kid to making cookies for your teachers or hosting a surprise birthday party for your best friend. From high school or college graduation to volunteering or donating to people in need, first jobs or jobs that didn’t last long, but taught you a ton. Maybe you said hello to the neighbor who always seemed lonely, or maybe you helped someone do something that made them feel like they accomplished so much. Awards you won (they all count) or recognition you received. Was an article written about you in the school or town paper? Did you become a doctor? Did you go skydiving? Hike a tall mountain? Travel to a distant land? Did you survive a Master Cleanse?! Maybe you were just the person everyone knew they could come to if they needed someone to talk to. Sometimes it’s the smallest of things we do for others that make the biggest impact. Just write it all down. Honor it. If you can’t think of many things to put on your list, ask around, I bet your friends and family can give you ideas.

If the list of things you’ve accomplished, created, or experienced really doesn’t seem long enough, start thinking of things you’d like to add to the list and put those on your calendar. Honor the accomplishments and achievements you have yet to realize! And then tune into the feeling you will inspire in others when you do. What a great way to stay inspired!

No matter what, its important to stay positive and keep following your heart and soul’s mission. We are all here to bring love to the world. After all, that’s what life is about.

Now, please enjoy this 10 min meditation to appreciate all you’ve created, experienced, and achieved in this life. And if you want to continue adding to your list of achievements, set a goal to follow along with the Daily Healing meditations every day as part of your healing practice. Welcome to the family! We are all here to heal.
