How to Incorporate Mindful Movement Into Your Day

Today we will be exploring movement and feeling moved. Mindful movement.

When we feel moved, our energy shifts, and we feel more connected to our heart. We feel elevated and part of something bigger. When we are moved, we are in the flow state and as such, we feel liberated to embrace life on a deeper level. We expand physically, mentally, energetically, and emotionally. And often times in the state of movement anything feels possible. We are not stagnant, we are in motion. Movement is necessary for growth and healing. Whether it is the movement of stagnant energy, the movement of realization after confusion, movement of oxygen through our lungs and circulatory system, or the movement of joy in our hearts, when we invite conscious movement into our healing journey, we allow our body, mind, and soul to expand in new ways.

So, ask yourself, how does movement feel in your body?

Do you take opportunities to consciously move your body on a daily basis?

How often do you visualize your breath moving up and down the central channel, cleansing and releasing stuck energy with each inhale and exhale?

Do you ever explore movement in your face through smiles and in your gut with laughter?

How about dancing? How often do you let your body move to music that floats your soul?

What do you do on a consistent basis to feel fully embodied in the physical while breathing in spirit?

When was the last time you felt emotionally moved in a healing way?

Think of a moment where you experienced a feeling of being moved. Connect to that feeling right now.

Breathe it in.

And release it.

We are here to create. To grow. To evolve. And to do this, we need movement.

The Definition of Movement: A noun.

  1. The act or an instance of moving; a change in place or position.

  2. A particular manner of moving.

Moved: An adjective.

  1. Of the mind or feelings, affected with emotion or passion, touched

  2. Having been changed from one position or place to another

Mindful movement is when we set the intention to clear our mind of thoughts to let our mind, body, and soul be free. This type of mindfulness is why yoga is so profound, because while you move your body and breathe as you release the monkey mind, you let go of stuck energy. Long after the class is over, the yoga practice stays with practitioner throughout the day, allowing for calm energy to radiate into the world. When we feel excitement for something due to feeling deeply touched, we are light and free. We feel safe. Calm. Whole. We let go, releasing everything that weighs on us or lowers our vibration.

And we move into the unknown with loving curiosity. Movement is healing.

Take this opportunity to listen to the following episode of The Daily Healing as a walking meditation. As you move your body and breathe, feel yourself releasing any energy that does not serve the highest good of all. Let this simple meditation serve as a gift to your soul and when it is over, listen to the world around you in gratitude for this experience of life.

Namaste.
